PTO Meeting Minutes March 5, 2006

February Minutes: Accepted unanimously

Treasurer's Report presented by Deanne Rockwood. Actual report available upon request.

Fundraiser: Presentation by Chris Garland from Cristoline. Unanimously voted against doing their catalog liked the cookie dough and pies with an early September launch and a November delivery. Well received by all. Still needs to go to official vote. Will have one more company come to next meeting to show what they have.

Spaghetti Supper: Gina Colpus-Palanza, Yvonne Boots-Faubert and Beth Valentine discussed what has been accomplished thus far: donations, volunteers and supplies still needed. CHIPS program to be run by Jan Souweine time and volunteers need to be established.

Art Show and Ice Cream Social: Chair person still needed. Volunteers still needed. Deanne Rockwood discussed the Original Art works program. She has been working hand in hand with Mrs. Sweeney to acquire all the art work. All art work must be returned by the April 11th deadline. Thanks to Deanne for all her hard work on putting this together.

2006 4th Grade Year Book - Is still in the works, Yvonne states it is coming along and Lori reminds all that messages of love may still be submitted.

Teacher Appreciation - tabled for next meeting. Chairperson Lori Raber.

Bylaws - Donna Skinner has completed the bylaws and asked for a review committee. The committee is as follows: Laura Peterson, Beth Valentine and the PTO Board.

Enrichment Program - to be discussed at next meeting. Set a budget look at options for June.

New Items: Flag Pole dedication for Mr. Bud date to be announced.

If you are interested in running for a PTO board position you should make your intentions clear for the April meeting. Voting takes place in May and transitions take place in June. 3rd/4th Grade playground improvements discussed. Baby gifts for staff - voted unanimously to continue this tradition. Congrats to all!!

Recap of Previous Events:

PeaceBuilders Assembly - went well. The students enjoyed it. Congratulations to Kevin Pimental for receiving the largest amount of praise notes.

Dr. Seuss Reading Program: Chaired by Donna Skinner was a huge success!! The kids read roughly 144,000 minutes!!! Awesome job!!!

Scholastic Book Fair was a big success this year, Thank you to Kelly Giest for another great job. Buy One Get One is available to our school thanks to because of the other book fairs.

Ray Kinney Scholarship will stay in place for this year. Essay readers are as follows: Kelly Crocker, Yvonne Boots Faubert, Terri Kellogg, Lucy Haddon & Gina Colpus-palanza.

Teacher requests:

Mrs. Mysona from the Library would like to recognize Library Week with bookmarks, etc. for the students. This was motioned by Donna Skinner seconded by Yvonne Boots-Faubert. PTO will cover the cost of the bookmarks.

USB cables for the computer lab, rough estimate is $140.00 with a rebate of $20.00. Money raised by recycled ink jet cartridges will help defray the cost, then the PTO will cover the rest. This was Motioned by Terry Kellogg seconded by Fran Fusaro.
