Welcome and Introductions Comments from M'Lou Douglass Assistant Principal: She discussed Teatickets progress, statistics & Teatickets long and short term goals for achievement. She also discussed the Leslie Literacy program and Everyday Math both of which will continue at Teaticket. She answered questions raised after her presentation. Treasurer’s Report: furnished by Deanne Rockwood: Actual numbers provided upon request. Field Trips: Due to the extra cost of fuel as well as admission prices the $15.00 per student was surpassed in some grades. PTO discussed and voted on paying the additional costs. Motioned by Jan Souwiene and seconded by Deanne Rockwood all in favor. In the future excess field trip fees will be brought to the PTO by Mr. Arth for consideration. Extra Ice Cream - Voted to provide ice cream dessert to student body on a day that works for Sheila Topping. She is willing to be responsible for this. BOGO Book Fair- PTO will draw names from hat for 20 $5 certificates, prior to Fair. This gives 20 students an opportunity to spend $5 on a book. Students will write their own names, Lucy H and Laura P to collect and pull 20 names random. Teach Apprec. - Sign up list for deserts passed around. We will be ordering Encyclopedias from Scholastic to be distributed at luncheon. Certificates have been solicited and are being collected as they are called in. Kelly C has visited more than 40 local businesses and is continuing to contact. Original Works - 275 magnets purchased, 57 returned, and 46 outstanding. Those who have not paid or returned have been asked to do so. OW wants all collected magnets in 2 weeks. Total profit was $1,786.51. Which will pay bulk of laminator. Scholarship - Committee to decide by Friday via e-mail to Lori R. Content will be shared with current 4th graders as essay writing lesson. Check to be cut for $750 on 5/8. By-laws - Tabled until June meeting. Sportswear - Tabled until June meeting. Laminator - Deanne R to contact Lucia C to order in time for Teacher Appreciation. Approx. cost is $2,600. Enrichment program - Field trips are enrichment focus for the remainder of school year. Fall Fundraisers - Classic Cookie dough will be choice for dough. Innisbrook will be catalog offering. Need Chairperson for Innisbrook. Field Day - Approved popsicles for FD. Lori will ask Mr. Arth about ordering maroon TT Field Day ribbons for each student. If no maroon available, will order generic ribbon from catalog sent to school. Dedication at flagpole: Lori R to speak with Mr. Arth about inviting students outside after indoor ceremony for dedication. Otherwise, suggested to invite Student Council members. Mr. Bud may not be remembered by any grades other than 3rd and 4th. Vote for Board Members - Fran Fusaro voted in as Secretary, Deanne Rockwood voted in as Treasurer, no candidates for V.P., candidates for Pres. Are Yvonne Boots-Faubert, and Lori Raber & Laura Peterson as Co-Presidents. Will be voted on in June as Yvonne's children may not attend TT in the Fall. She will know by June meeting. 3rd/4th playground - Rebekah Raber (3rd grader) has asked to present her suggestions for improvement. Funding is not available this fiscal year, but to get ideas for the future. Art + Ice Cream - Thanks to all for terrific job. Yearbook - Will arrive June 14th Pizza - Brought in $268, increase over previous 2 times. This is the most ever made in one night. Pasta Night- Thanks to all for job well done. Requests: Request for donation of $100-$200 to CHIPS tabled until next meeting (Proposed by Yvonne B-F). Request for donation of $500 to Falmouth Schools Art Council tabled until next meeting. Request is going to all PTO's, trying to create a nest egg so don't have to ask for each event separately. Some comments that amount was too high. Request that other PTO's be polled for their feelings/actions. Meeting adjourned at 8:15PM |
