PTO Meeting Minutes- November 2006
Wednesday, November 2, 2006 the PTO held it’s Monthly Meeting. The following is a summary of that evening. Meeting called to order at 6:30pm Ø Welcome and Introductions Ø Review of last month meeting minutes Deanne Rockwood motioned, Jen Bird 2nd all in favor to accept. Principal’s Report - Thank you to the PTO for a wonderful Harvest fest evening. The position left open on The School Council by Donna Skinner was filled. Mr. Arth announced Virginia Angelo is the newest member. Ø Enrichment Program - Sally Egan of Outreach offered to TT, free of cost, a presentation of the Cape Cod version (Nautical Theme) of the Nutcracker, to our students. Fran Fusaro motioned, Sue Picard 2nd and all were in favor of having this holiday presentation. The details to be worked out with Mr. Arth. Ø Treasure’s Report - Available for review upon request Ø Playground Equipment - The Committee for the Playground has met with Mr. Arth and will be going forward. Kathy Twomey is the Chair for this project. They are working on a proposal and should have something to present to the PTO in Spring 2007. Jan Souweine motioned Fran Fusaro 2nd and all were in favor of setting aside start up funds into a 6mo CD. Ø Reading Program - Mrs. Mary Mysona gave a Preview of the Read to Feed Program - Heifer International. The PTO voted with Deanne Rockwood’s motion, Yvonne Boots-Faubert 2nd and all were in favor of going ahead with ironing out the particulars of starting this new reading program given the stipulation that a majority of the funds collected went directly to the program. Sue Picard to chair the program with Mrs. Mysona. Volunteers needed. Also discussed was the possibility of getting corporate sponsorship. Website available for all to view: www.readtofeed.org . Ø Voting Day - Tuesday, November 7th is voting day and will be a full day of school. We are looking for volunteers to meet and greet the voters. We want the public to know our PTO is present to secure the safety of our children with so many in and out of the building during school hours. Mr. Arth asks that those that volunteer keep all political views and wishes separate from the PTO parents representing the school. Please contact Co-President Laura Peterson with any questions. Ø Sportswear Logo’s - The PTO narrowed the fantastic selections given by Carla Johnson to three. These to be voted on by the students for the final choice for the sportswear. Ø Simon Mall Night - to be held Nov. 19th , 24 tickets sold to date. Fran Fusaro to be contact for any future sales before Simon’s deadline. Ø Holiday Fair - being held Dec. 14th and Dec. 15th - Kelly Crocker Chairing event Volunteers needed Thurs from 10-1:30, Fri 10-1 to help the children buy their gifts. Also, we need volunteers on Fri after 1pm to help with clean up. Ø Classic Cookie Dough Report given by Lynda Gaudet - Pick up on Wed. Nov. 8th. Volunteers needed for delivery and set up starting at 1:30 and volunteers needed for distribution of orders from 3:30-6. Please contact Lynda at gaudetfamily@verizon.net. Ø Innisbrook Report - Pick up date is Wed. November 15th , Volunteers needed. Ø Harvest Event - A HUGE thank you to Yvonne Boots-Faubert and everyone that helped! We received lots of food to be delivered to the Falmouth Service Center and we shipped out 5 boxes of ink Jet cartridges and old cell phones for the recycling project. Ø 4th Grade Yearbook - Joy Paruch motioned ,Sue Picard 2nd ,and all were in favor of adding 4 more pages to the yearbook and doing it in color this year. Ø Friendly’s Family Fun Night - The PTO is looking into having a night at Friendly’s the next school year. 10% of the proceeds would go to the school. Ø Adventure Isle - As a thank you, Adventure Isle will issue a free pass to TT students. Lynda Gaudet to Chair. Invitations will be sent to the students and will require a RSVP. Only those who have given their RSVP may attend and be given the free bracelet, any others wanting to attend will have to pay at the door. Tokens must be paid for there. Joy Paruch motioned, Jan Souweine 2nd all in favor to have a fun night! Date to be a Fri or Sat night in January. Date to be announced later. Ø Review of ongoing Money Makers - Boxtops headed by Joy Paruch last month was $690.00 Bottle Caps headed by Carla Johnson final count for end of program was 2187 sox tops. Awesome job everybody. Pencil Grips - Mary Hunt, OT has made a request for pencil grips for kindergarten and 1st graders. Linda Gaudet motioned, Donna Randleman 2nd, and all were in favor of purchasing the pencil grips.
