Frequently Asked Questions About the Gift Card Fundraiser
Why should I participate?
Every card you purchase makes money for Teaticket. Purchasing cards for groceries, clothing, gifts, gas, etc., is money you would normally spend. Your participation earns money for Teaticket without incurring additional expenses.
Am I obligated to making monthly purchases?
No. You can participate as frequently or as infrequently as you'd like.
Do I have to order a certain dollar amount in order to participate?
No. Whether you order one $10 gift card or several hundred dollars worth of cards, every card purchased is beneficial to Teaticket. We place the orders monthly, so no matter how small your order is, it is definitely appreciated!
How do I order online?
Go to
www.shopwithscrip.com, go to member login, then enter access code 898297LF15451 for Teaticket. You can pay online or print a copy of your order and send a check in an envelope marked "PTO Scrips."
How much is my gift card really worth?
The value of your gift card is the same as what you pay for it. The PTO gets a discount on the purchase price when placing the order-which is how the PTO profits.
What if I don't use the full value of my gift card during a single transaction?
You do not have to use the entire gift card in one purchase. You can use any amount within the value of your card for a transaction. If you have a balance left, you can use the same card towards your next shopping trip to that store. (Example: If you have a $50 gift card and use it for a $28.23 purchase, your balance will be $21.77. If the next purchase at that store totals $40.00, you can apply the $21.77 from your card and then pay the difference with another credit card, gift card, check or cash.)
How can I find out how much money is left on my gift card?
You can either call the toll-free telephone number on the back of the card, or if you are at the store the card is issued for, you can ask the cashier to swipe the card for your balance.
Are there fees for using the gift card or for checking balances?
No. Unlike some mall gift cards, these are store-specific and they do not penalize you.
Do the cards expire?
Most cards do not expire, but some are good for a specific period of time (typically, at least one year). Before you purchase a card, go to www.glscrip.com and look up the specific terms of the card(s) you are interested in, or give one of the coordinators a call they will be happy to get the information for you.
What is the money used for?
The Teaticket PTO uses this money to increase their contribution for supplies, equipment and field trips for Teaticket.
Can I give them as gifts?
Yes. These cards are transferable.
How can I help earn as much money for Teaticket via this program?
Participate! We have monthly pizza nights, so consider purchasing gift cards to Dominos and D'Angelos/Papa Ginos. If you are a regular at Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks purchase their gift card. Purchase a gas card. If you have frequent prescriptions at CVS, Rite-Aid, or Wal-Mart, get their card. If you get your groceries at Stop & Shop or Shaw's get their card. Also, spread the word! Encourage extended family, friends and co-workers to participate as well - this is not limited to Teaticket families. If you are a businesses owner, consider how your business can participate with gift cards for things such as office expenses at Staples or building expenses at Home Depot and Lowes.
Are there any exceptions to the above examples?
Of course! Be sure of what you are ordering by looking up the specifics of any gift card at www.glscrip.com or don't hesitate to ask one of us questions.
