The Kids are wrapping up the Spring Reading Program. This year's program was "Read to Feed" Children Changing the World. Brought through the Heifer Foundation, Children get 'sponsors' to pledge money for each book they read. At the end of the program, the children collect their pledges, pool their money and decide what type of livestock they would like to buy for families in need. The livestock helps vastly improve the independance and economical outlook of the families, many in underdeveloped countries. (goats or water buffalo for milk, chickens for eggs, etc.) This years chairpersons are Mary Mysona & Susan Picard, thank you for your help in organizing this!
The PTO is contributing $20 towards each classroom in additional funds for the program. There will also be an end-of-program celebration (notices will go home once this has been planned). Great job reading Kids!
